How do I know when my profile has been matched with someone?
MyType searches our member database every day to find compatible matches based on your personality characteristics and ideal partner preferences.
When we find a suitable match for you, you'll receive a notification email introducing you to your match. Follow the links to view the profile and start a conversation if you're interested. If they're not your type, don't forget to close the match down. This will help us fine tune your search for more matches next time.
Remember that you can keep track of all your matches online. Just click on the matches link in the navigation at the top of the page.
How are my matches selected?
In consultation with some of Australia's top practising psychologists, including academics from leading Australian Universities, MyType looks at how different personalities 'go' together.
MyType doesn't just search for matches based on what you're looking for in a mate. We'll also consider who you are, what you believe in, and your outlook on the world.
When we find two like-minded members we'll bring those people together. Compatible matches will appear in your new matches list online, and you'll also get notified by email.
Each of your matches is given a compatibility score based on your personality.
Where can I find my matches?
Once you are logged in, click on the matches link in the navigation panel at the top of the page. This will display your current new matches if you have any.
You can also click through the tabs to view which members you have added to your favourites, as well as members you are currently talking to.
Why do I have to complete the questionnaire to get my matches?
In order for MyType to match you to the best compatible singles for you, MyType first needs to identify your likes and dislikes, what you believe in, and your outlook on the world.
Completing the questionnaire when you sign up is important to help us identify who you are.
We can then present you with the best matches for your personality.
How do I update the questionnaire I completed when I signed up?
You can update your profile information and ideal partner preferences at any time. However, the personality questionnaire can't be altered as it may make your compatibility scores less accurate.
Go to my profile, select the section of the profile you wish to change and click on edit, remember to click on save when you are done.
Why haven't I received any matches?
Matching is on the way soon! We are currently building our database of suitable matches for you.
Watch this space. You will be notified by email when new matches are delivered to you.
How can I update my match preferences?
Once you're logged in, go to your profile by clicking on the my profile link in the navigation at the top of the page. Then click on the me & my ideal tab to view your current ideal partner preferences.
Click the edit link next to the "my ideal partner" heading to update any of your preferences.
Make your changes then click save at the bottom of the page.
